Transitions in Undergraduate Mathematics Education

To coincide with the recent publication of Transitions in Undergraduate Mathematics Education (see flyer), the University of Birmingham is hosting a staff development event on Wednesday 25th March at the University of Birmingham to explore some of the material covered by the book.

The authors of the chapters relating to lecturing, feedback on assessments, developing independent learners, using problem solving and creating accessible learning environments will each be running an interactive workshop.  The event will begin with lunch from 12 noon and will conclude at 4.30pm.

Although we believe that the event will be valuable for all who are involved in teaching mathematics in higher education, it will be particularly relevant to those who are relatively new to such teaching.

There is no charge for participation in the event and each delegate will receive a complimentary copy of the book.  However, to assist with administrative arrangements, colleagues are asked to register with Daryl Davies (d.r.davies@bham.ac.uk).
