sigma Online Support Workshop – 29th May 2020

An online webinar, from 10.00 am to 4.30 pm (BST) on Friday 29th May 2020

The impact the Coronavirus pandemic has had on all of our lives is unprecedented and, as educators, we have had to very quickly adapt our ways of teaching and learning. In order to see how teaching and learning has changed, we are hosting an online support workshop showcasing what institutions and practitioners of mathematics and statistics support are offering now compared to what they offered before.

The day will involve viewing different online support platforms, such as Microsoft Teams, Big Blue Button, Adobe Connect, YouTube Live Streaming and more, showcased by the practitioners who are using them now to support their students. The aim is to provide the community with ideas on how to provide online support, the pros and cons of each system, how to advertise services to get students using the provision, and generally discuss online maths and stats support.

To conclude the day, we will show the results of a survey regarding maths and stats support provisions since the pandemic began and discuss what it means for maths and stats support going forward.
