Inclusive Teaching: Offering a tailored approach in supporting students’ learning in maths – 26th March 2019

George Fox Building  LT5   –    9.30 am to 5.00 pm (lunch included)

The Maths Learning Development (MLD) Team at Lancaster University (LU) is running a FREE sharing practice event to promote our student maths support service. Our approach to maths learning development is focused on providing a proactive, tailored and timely delivered service, which allows meeting the demand of a diverse student body (e.g. students from non-traditional university entry routes and students who have specific learning difficulties (SpLD)) to enhance students’ learning experience and improve retention.

The MLD team has received very positive feedback from our students, so we would like to share our experience and lessons from practice with colleagues at LU and in the wider HE sector. We hope that you will be able to attend!

We are interested in hearing your views on supporting students’ learning in maths. We invite you to give a 5 minute presentation during our discussions.

Keynote presentations will be given by

Michael Grove (University of Birmingham) ‘Mathematics support: Learning from past and present to prepare for the future’.

Leif Bryngfors (Lund University, Sweden) ‘SI-PAL-PASS: a Rose with many names’

This event is sponsored by Faculty of Science & Technology and Teach-Learn-Share initiative at LU Management School and Faculty of Health & Medicine.
