Nominations for Network Awards 2026 now open!

Nominations for the annual Mathematics and Statistics Support Networks Awards are now open. The awards will be presented at the 2026 CETL-MSOR conference in Edinburgh, recognising the achievement and excellence of mathematics and statistics support practitioners. These awards are supported by the three UK and Ireland Networks (sigma, SMSN, and IMLSN) and we also thank the organising committee for CETL-MSOR for their support and funding.

The first award is The UK and Ireland Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Statistics Support. These awards are designed to celebrate the achievements of practitioners working in mathematics and statistics support across the UK and Ireland, as well as colleagues from overseas who are members of the networks. As these awards are internationally recognised, we hope that these awards will increase the presence and reputation of colleagues in their institutions. Up to five awards will be presented each year.

The second award is The Lawson-Croft Award for Outstanding Achievement in Mathematics and Statistics Support. This prestigious annual award, named after Professor Duncan Lawson MBE and Professor Tony Croft in recognition of their work in the initial set up of the UK-wide mathematics and statistics support community, is to be awarded to a member of the community for outstanding achievement and excellence across a sustained period.

Full details of the awards, their criteria, and how to nominate are in the attached documents as well as on the sigma-Network website at https://www.sigma-network.ac.uk/awards/.

Nominations should be submitted through this link and by the deadline of Friday 26th June 2026.

If you have any questions about the awards, please feel free to contact Mark (ab7634@coventry.ac.uk).
