Sue and colleagues in the Mathematical Resilience Network have been developing the use of a brief intervention using an accessible, effective toolkit. (Brief details attached.) The fundamental idea is that maths and stats anxiety is a symptom of a learning wound (or psychological injury) and that communication is needed to help students and staff distinguish between feelings of challenge and threat, address the feelings associated with perceived threat, and build experiences of productive, supported struggle.
Attendance is free but we ask that you register as early as possible to help us prepare. We would be grateful if you register by Wednesday 2nd December.
You can register for the event at: sigma Workshop: Maths Resilience Toolkit – Registration Form – Fill in form
A final agenda and meeting link for the event will be circulated closer to the date.
Questions about the event should be directed to Sue Johnson-Wilder, s.j.johnston-wilder@warwick.ac.uk .
