“A resource in a day” – Mathematics Support Resources Workshop – 18 September 2013

The Midlands Hub of the sigma Network at Loughborough University held a one-day resource development workshop on Wednesday 18th September 2013 from 10am to 4.30pm.

The aim of this event was  to facilitate the production of new text based resources, for example Quick Reference (two A4 sides) or Facts & Formulae leaflets.  Attendees were invited to submit a resource concept in advance and  were assisted on the day with the creation and production of the resource.  Technical assistance was available in a number of areas such as the type setting of text and mathematical equations and the production, annotation and inclusion of diagrams, graphs, screen captures and photographs.  The intention was that delegates would draw on the expertise available to produce a completed resource in one day.  Attendees  also conducted a peer review process to ensure the mathematical accuracy of the leaflets.  Completed resources will be hosted by the mathcentre Community Project (http://www.mathcentre.ac.uk/communities/).
